Pastoral Care

StVincents-47Pastoral Care is an integral aspect of the healing Ministry at St Vincent’s Lismore.  It is a distinguishing feature of Catholic Healthcare.  Pastoral Care is a means of giving expression to holistic care and to a faith vision of life in the healthcare setting.

All staff at St Vincent’s Lismore are involved in the Pastoral Ministry of care.  This is a ministry of presence and support to patients, residents and families and also of staff to each other.

The Pastoral Care Team is trained in the clinical, pastoral listening ministry and available to support patients and residents.  Compassion and sensitivity are fundamental elements of pastoral caring.

Ministers and representatives of other faiths are trained and authorised to minister to members of their faith tradition.
